It’s a Monday morning as I write this, and I’m gonna share from the heart, so here we go!
I woke up NOT FEELING IT today y’all. Just stuff happening that has me distracted and a little bit down and I just straight up wanted to hide under the covers today. BUT, because I know better, I got out of bed and started my normal routine. I remember many years ago someone telling me that if I start, even if I’m not feeling it, that I would at least be MOVING in a direction, and that it was important to keep moving. SO, I did. I began my normal routine, which included a one-on-one coaching call with a team member.
Shortly in to our conversation, she brought up something that I asked if I could please share because it TOTALLY was what I needed to hear today. So…thank you to Shawn for letting me share this with everyone! I hope someone else can benefit from this like I did today.
Shawn was telling me how she is going to do a new Vision Board for herself. She had not done one in quite some time. She recently found one that she had done back before she was a Manager a couple of years ago. As she looked at this board in front of her, she suddenly realized that she had accomplished all of the items on that board!!! She had promoted to Manager, and had even gotten a vehicle like she had put on her board! She realized that she had a Vision and it was on paper, and she accomplished it! SO guess what, her first thought was to do a new vision board! She had not even paid attention to the impact that board had on her, so she is creating a new one RIGHT NOW!
This got me to thinking. I have done vision boards for years. Even in PZ, I did one back in the beginning that I wanted to get Duane a boat. One was about wanting to travel more. Another year it was to be able to quit my corporate job. Duane even had one where he wanted a new truck! lol Each of those things were accomplished! EACH ONE! Do you know, last year I never completed my Vision Board? In fact, I tried to find one from even 2 years ago and can’t! WHAT???? So guess what y’all. I’ve made a new vision board!
I want to challenge you to make a vision board for yourself!! There is something about putting it on paper that makes a difference!!! If you don’t believe it, just try it this one time! Determine what it is that you truly want. It can be a couple of things, but the key is to be specific. And give it a timeline. For example, you will see mine is to accomplish this by October 2020!
You’ll notice I don’t have a bunch of things on this board. For me, it is because now, my big goal of Presidential Director is what I need to focus on in order to make so many of my other goals come true. Goals like retiring my husband from Plumbing, traveling to my team for their team meetings from time to time, continuing to finish my sons education without us having any debt. So, Presidential Director, here we come! We will be a Presidential Team by October 2020!
Please share your vision board with us!
