It hit me today. It’s already December 6th and I have not even thought about my goals or plans for 2023!! How is that even possible? I’m a planner. I normally have all of my goals written out for the next year by now!
I’m giving myself some grace because it’s been quite a year. With my health scare, I was out of pocket for a couple of months. Now that I’ve been feeling better and better, I’ve been working more and doing some catch up. But goodness! It’s already December 6th! So my goals are a priority to me now!
Goal Setting Planner & Workbook
Luckily I have a Goal Setting Planner & Workbook here on my website that is exactly what I personally use, and you are welcome to use it too! Some of the things we’ll ask ourselves are:
Start with your Why! Why do you want to be your own boss and work this business?
What obstacles might you face? Maybe someone close to you isn’t supportive or you can’t work outside the home. What ever the obstacles, determine what they may be and how you will work around them.
Why do you value one thing over another? Why are certain things more important to you than others? The one thing I’ve learned is you want to stay true to who you are. Internal battles can throw you off completely!
What are you looking to change in the new year?
Then we determine what our BIG GOAL is! Paying a certain bill each month? Making new friends and being a part of something fun? Saving for a special vacation?
Once you have your BIG GOAL determined, how will you get there? I’ll walk you through the steps you can take to break it down to reach your goal!
How many parties do you need for the month?
How many people do you need to sponsor?
How many new contacts do you need to make each month?
How many social media posts do you need to make each week/month?
Then we break it all out in to quarterly goals. Here is where you want to be very specific.
How will you find party hosts? What dates are you open to have parties? Or will you be going live and Social Selling?
What kind of follow up will you have so that you stay top-of-mind with your customers?
What kind of things will you do for your VIP group to make them feel even more special?
And so many other things!
I will walk you through it step by step! You just have to be willing to put in the work to think about what you want and how you will get there! Remember, a plan doesn’t work unless you do!
ALSO…if the plan DOESN’T work, change the plan, not the goal!! This workbook is a living breathing document just for you, so make the changes and the updates as you need to!
Good luck! I’d love to hear from you and if you filled it out and have some fun goals set for yourself! I’ll be your biggest cheerleader!!
Three weeks ago today, I had coffee with a girlfriend, dropped off some orders, grabbed lunch with another girlfriend, then went home to finish packing for my company conference. We were flying out at 8am the following morning.
Or so we thought. Thursday evening I felt like I might have acid reflux. It had started a few days before but nothing serious. By dinner Thursday it was very uncomfortable. I had only heard about acid reflux, but felt like I had all the symptoms. I went to lay down to see if I could just relax and hope it would go away.
Within a few moments of lying down, the pain got serious. I began to get a pain in the center of my back as well. I walked downstairs and told my husband I wasn’t comfortable getting on a plane the next morning without getting some medication for this, or to make sure that’s what it was.
We headed to the local ER Clinic
We decided to go ahead and head to one of the local ER clinics to get this taken care of. There are three near us, so as we got to the end of the street and decided to head to the one to the left. THAT was a God thing. We were being directed to that one for a reason that we were yet to understand.
As we arrived, they got me in right away. My pain was getting much worse. I began to think maybe it was my gal bladder. (here is where I will say…stop googling symptoms. Go see a doctor when you aren’t sure).
The doctor called for a CT Scan with contrast. We are so fortunate that the nurse doing the scan immediately brought the results to the doctor as she saw the issue. The second blessing was that the Doctor had seen this before and immediately reacted. What we didn’t realize at the time was that he got on the phone immediately to St. Lukes Hospital and Life Flight to get me there.
When the doctor came in to the room, I will admit, he scared us both to death. He asked if we were familiar with John Ritter, and when we both nodded in fear, he then said “exactly. It’s as bad as it gets”. He went on to explain about a surgeon he was familiar with at St. Lukes and that he had Life Flight on the way. Duane started making phone calls.
My parents were in Montana visiting my sister, and it was close to midnight there by then. They immediately went in to action to get home. My sister and my niece decided to come as well. My son lives in Arlington, so he got his things together to make the drive in. Nicole and Jordan came to pick up Duane so that he wouldn’t be alone, and drove him to meet me at the hospital since he couldn’t fly with me. Danielle went ahead to the hospital to scope it out and tell everyone where to go and where we were.
Life Flight
The paramedics that assisted me where amazing. Although I know I had pain meds by that time, I will say that it was a unique experience and I actually had an incredible view as I lay next to the window of the city and the lights. I spent some time at that moment thinking about how blessed my life has been.
It was only 6 minutes, but felt like much longer. I hope to be able to thank these people one day.
Hospital
Though things are a little fuzzy once I got to the hospital, I do recall that Danielle and Duane were right there. She was taking notes from the doctor, which we are so grateful for. Duane was already a mess, so having her there helped so much.
I was in a very busy area. It was ICU, and this is a learning hospital. Dr. Preventza is the Professor of Surgery for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery for Baylor College of Medicine. We hit the jackpot getting her. She is incredible and has the BEST bedside manner I have ever experienced. She was thorough and patient in her explanations. It was still very hard to comprehend, but we felt much better being in her hands.
To make a long story a bit shorter, I had surgery. I had what is known as an Aortic Dissection. (it’s easier to google that than for me to explain). I had an 8″ tube (diameter of a water hose is what I’ve been told) inserted to help the tearing heal. None of us could understand how that happened to me, since I have no health issues. So I had surgery and remained in ICU for another couple of days. Once I was moved to my own room, it was a matter of 24 hours before I was able to go home.
Why did this happen?
This type of thing does not run in my family, so that’s not it. I’m a healthy person, so it’s not underlying health issues. The only thing that we can seem to pinpoint is an uptick in stress. Yep, the entire world is experiencing more stress, so it makes sense that mine has increased as well. And I tend to shove things down and think I’m going with the flow. lol So, at this moment, I’m trying to figure out how to deal with stress a bit different.
Moral of my story
The actual reason I decided to write this is for a couple of reasons.
One – Many have asked me what happened, so for anyone I haven’t gotten back to, here it is.
Two – If you have pain in your chest, don’t google symptoms or assume it’s nothing serious. Duane and I literally kept trying to downplay what I was feeling that night. I’m so thankful that I decided I wasn’t getting on a plane until I knew for sure, so headed to an ER Clinic. No matter how healthy you are, don’t assume or downplay pain.
I never in a million years would have thought something like this could happen to me. I never checked my blood pressure. When I had been to the doctors in the past, if it was a little high, we all wrote it off to “white coat disease”. You know…when your blood pressure goes up just because you are in a doctors office. .
Three – God is good. When we think of the series of events, we realize that Jesus had His hand in it all. It could have gone so different. I now want to live my life more intentional and figure out how to give back ten fold.
My wish: To my gal pals, take care of yourself and find ways to deal with stress. We tend to take care of and carry a lot of stress for everyone…our family, our friends, our kids, our jobs, etc…so do things to take care of you. For anyone with high blood pressure, stay on top of that. I never realized what could happen. I’ve been healthy and hardly ever even catch a cold! So this came as a complete shock. I’m still shocked to be honest.
It will be a little while
Now the part that I’m currently experiencing. I have strict orders to remain resting for several weeks. My brain is already back to go mode, so I’m finding ways to feel productive without getting stressed. I never realized how just a conversation can really raise blood pressure. Now I’m very sensitive to the feeling in my body when I begin to get frustrated. I’m learning lots of things.
I’m very appreciative to everyone for having patience with me during this time. I’m doing things behind the scenes without actually getting out there. It’s different, but I’m doing what the doc orders because I’m just grateful to be here.
Thank you’s
I want to also end with a thank you to so many. My friends and family that have kept us in your prayers. For the cards and flowers. For the sweet messages, texts and visits.
For my son who quickly got here and even though he’s back home now, still checks on me daily, the girls (and their men) for being there the entire time and making sure Duane was taken care of (and me too…thank you for the pampering where you could!), Drew’s friends Jordan and Jake for being there for me AND Drew, my sis and my niece for coming to be with me, my brother in law, my sister in law, our sweet friends for coming home early from their trip to see me, my parents for being here and helping with meals and coming by when I’m here alone to be sure I’m ok.
And my husband for being my rock through it all. He slept in his truck while I was in ICU, then on the uncomfortable couch once I had a room. He never left the hospital. Then took 2 weeks off of work to be here with me. He kept me feeling strong through it all. I have never felt so much love and am so appreciative and thankful for each and every one of you.
I’m ready to heal and enjoy each of you even more very soon!
From time to time I’ll have someone ask if they should really go. Is it worth the expense? Will they really get anything out of it. So for anyone that isn’t sure, I’m sharing my Top 5 Reasons why you should absolutely attend!
1. Meet like minded people!
This may sound cliche, but I’m here to tell you…having a huge room full of people that love a business and a product as much as you do is amazing! Invigorating! Motivating! Exciting! It’s one of those things that it very hard to explain because it is a feeling.
The energy is fantastic. With Pink Zebra, it’s feels extra special because we are all Zebras and when Zebras come together in a herd, we are stronger! (Side Fun Fact…did you know Pink Zebra’s name was chosen because Pink stands for the power of Women and Zebra’s are stronger together because the stripes confuse their prey!)
2. See old friends and meet and make new ones!
I must admit this is one of my favorite things. Knowing that I will get to see people that I only get to see once or twice a year is very exciting. It’s no accident that Pink Zebra calls these our Annual “Reunions”. We are one big family!
The other exciting part is meeting the people that you talk to all the time on Social Media! We develop these great friendships, and Reunion gives us the opportunity to actually finally meet in person! Don’t you love seeing someone across the room that you know you recognize as your friend from Facebook?! So fun!!
Having a large team as I do, I love this opportunity to see as many as I possibly can! But whether you have a team or not, you will come away from the experience with new friends! And I love that in our company, we don’t just restrict things to our teams. The majority of us are cheering one another on whether we are teammates or not! Again, a big family!
If you are coming to our Pink Zebra Reunion for the first time, please come up and introduce yourself to me! I’d love to meet you!
3. Learn, learn, learn!
There are so many opportunities to learn at company events! Leaders share their knowledge in workshops. Speakers are hired to share with the entire company! And then Home Office sharing behind the scenes, stories, and other things that you just can’t pick up on unless you are attending!
Our Founders share their story each year and I never tire of it. It shows where we came from, and where we are going! Hearing the future plans for the company typically gives me chills. We’ve already come so far, but to see the vision and where they plan to take us? That’s pretty dang exciting!
We have had amazing speakers each year, each with their own techniques. As I mention in a blog I did last year, it’s so important to be sure to decide what you will take from it, what you will put in to action, and then DO it once the conference is over and you are back in to your normal routine!
Learning from other Leaders is always great. Knowing that others are so willing to share what they do that has made their business successful is very encouraging. And this is exactly what happens! So if you are willing to take notes and actually put some of these techniques in to action, the sky is the limit!
They typically have some breakout sessions, so choose what you want or need to learn more about and GO! Don’t skip the breakouts! These are full of information that can help you with your business. Sometimes it delves in to things that you may need personally, which in turn can also help your business!
4. Product Reveal!
This is probably one of the most exciting times of the conference because it is the launch of a new season. And we all go bonkers when we get to see everything that is in the new line that we will soon get to share with our customers!
One additional aspect for us is that our company shares stories about our products. Like the visit to the Soy Farmer! It’s exciting to see how Pink Zebra is changing the lives of so many people, including the ones that provide us with what we need to create things like our Sprinkles!
So not only do we see a new product, but we learn the story behind it. We also learn about trends, how to market our line, and even how to decorate with it! (Or create new blends if we are talking about the fragrances!)
Since Covid a few years back, Pink Zebra has shifted to include our Virtual options. Ahead of the curve, Kelly introduced PZTV for shopping online which has helped us all grow our businesses too. So if you do have to miss coming in person for some reason, be sure you are plugged in at least virtually! You don’t want to miss this.
5. Ignites your business!
Every single year, as our Reunion comes to a close, we all begin talking about how we can’t wait to get home and share all that we have discovered and learned! From the product line to the trainings. We feel invigorated and ready to have an amazing season!
We have now met new people that we can continue to connect with! Some even look for an accountability partner, so that they keep each other on track to hit the big goals they have now set!
Speaking of goals, each year our Founder asks us to set a big goal for ourselves! I always love this because it pushes me to think even bigger, which we all sometimes need encouragement and confidence to do. At these conferences, you will find your confidence! You will make bigger goals! It just happens!
So, if you have thought about it but have just not been sure, my advice is to do it. Do it for yourself. You will be SO glad that you invested in YOU. The saying is “Those that show up, go up!”
The world is changing faster and faster all the time, and the way of doing business in it is too.
Remember when?
Seems like not long ago we did all of our business in person or on the phone. It was a big deal to network to meet new people. That was how you got your name out there. It’s also how you got referrals much of the time!
Then Facebook…
Facebook was awesome when they first created the business page. I was new in my Pink Zebra business, so I got a ton of exposure there because the business was new, as well as the platform for selling, so it really helped me launch my business.
Young adults running from us
I’m sure that’s not what was really happening, but it seemed that as soon as we adults got in to and comfortable with a platform, a new one popped up that the kids ran to. I’m sure they didn’t love seeing mom and dad on their social media! lol. Bottom line, just when we think this is it, another one comes along.
Expect the unexpected
Over this past year, a couple of times different platforms had glitches where no one could get to them for several hours at a time. It was crazy to see the panic everywhere. It was then that I realized a few things…
The old saying about not putting all the eggs in one basket remains to be true.
While we want to grow with the current trends (it’s actually pretty important to stay relevant and in front of people), it’s still a good idea to have other options.
Email lists and networking are still important!
Networking Groups
Here’s where networking groups come in. If you can find a group of business minded individuals that you can meet with, there are a lot of benefits to this.
Trust among your group will develop and people buy and support people they trust.
You’ll always have a support system. It’s a great place to share ideas, ask for feedback, and feel connected.
Great opportunity to support your fellow business partners. It feels good knowing you are supporting others.
Perfect place for referrals and to continue growing your business.
So when covid tried to shut us down, we came together on zoom calls and continued supporting one another. When social media glitched, there was no need to panic because we have our base of customers and other professionals and we can lean in to that.
Make your networking group work for you
This is the catch. It’s easy to join a group. The crucial part is really getting involved. Attend the meetings. Get to know people. Set up a coffee date so you can get to know members one-on-one.
Support other business members. This doesn’t mean you have to buy their product if it isn’t something you are interested in. You can do things like follow and comment on their social media pages. Perhaps you know someone that could benefit from their products! Give a referral! All of it is a form of support!
Additional tip!
This is important. I’ve seen lots of people fail or fall out of grace when they come in to a networking group and make it all about them. I highly recommend you ask questions and get to know others before trying to sell to everyone. You’ll have your opportunity for your quick commercial at each meeting, so get to know others every chance you get!
And try to read the room. If you are talking a lot about your products and the person is staring with a glazed-over look, change the subject! Ask them a question about themselves! They may be trying to be polite, but it’s likely they have stopped listening and will avoid you the next time you enter the room.
Enjoy!
Networking groups can be a lot of fun if you don’t go in with big expectations on selling. Go in with the intent to get to know people. To develop relationships. To enjoy one another. Great things will come from it!
Lately I feel like I’ve been having this conversation a lot. Encouraging others that they are amazing. That the goals they have met are huge! Not to compare themselves. Sound familiar?
Yay me! Wait…no?
You’ve worked hard to get sales this month. Then you see someone being celebrated for having higher sales.
You achieved a status set by the company and are so excited. Crickets.
It’s been a challenging month but you showed up and still did your best. Nothing.
Sometimes it is extra tough.
Not everyone cares about being acknowledged for their successes. Yeah right. We can say that, but truth is a little piece of us would like to hear a “way to go” once in a while.
If we are showing up and doing our best, sometimes we are the only ones that know that. Others can’t see what is happening on the other side of your front door. Maybe there are health issues (mental or physical). Perhaps you are having to take care of a loved one, so have limited time to do what you normally do. Shoot…maybe you have a full time job and this is supposed to just be your side gig.
It’s hard to cut ourselves a break sometimes because we hear things like “don’t make excuses”, or “you can do anything”. Though we love the positive affirmation, we also resent it when we are struggling. Give us a minute and give us some grace. We are doing our best just to show up each day. And more often than not, we are still hitting goals. We just aren’t saying anything about any of it.
Comparison
We hear it all the time. Comparison kills. It sure does. It kills excitement. Momentum. Passion.
Companies obviously shout out the highest sales. That’s just the way it is. But then our minds go to not feeling like we are doing enough. That we ‘suck’. That we are a disappointment.
Truth is, we are ALL important. Every bit of what we do counts.
So what do we do?
That’s the question of the day! What can we do to feel good about our accomplishments? Big and small?
What can we do when we achieved what we were shooting for, regardless of how big or small it is to someone else? It was OUR goal.
Truth is, I don’t have all the answers. Only a few ideas:
Share it with someone! A friend. A team member.
Be sure and tell your upline (if you have one) because it’s very likely they have no idea!
Make yourself a graphic or use a gif and give yourself a shout out!
Do something good for yourself. A treat. A mini-celebration for YOU.
I’ll start
It’s never been something I’m comfortable with, but I will take my own advice. I hit a company goal recently, but since I have no upline and the company doesn’t do shout outs for each and every thing (until a list and award come out at conference, which will include everyone), I have to be comfortable giving myself a shout out. To ME, it was a goal and I hit it. Ahead of schedule even.
What makes giving ourselves a shout out even easier is to give credit to those that helped us achieve it! I mean, being humble is more attractive than arrogance, of course.
Remember
If you are looking to grow a team and grow your business, YOU are the brand. People won’t know what YOU are all about unless you tell them. So GO for the post! Give yourself a shout out. Share it in a group so we can all cheer for you!
If you are struggling with giving yourself a shout out, please let me know and I’ll do it for you! What ever your business. I’m here for it! Let’s lift one another up!
It’s been a tough time…for just about everyone, and everywhere around the world. It’s easy to fall in to a depression, or feel unmotivated for sure. Obviously I can’t even begin to describe the devastating things taking place on a grand scale in the world, but I can talk about some of the things that often hit close to home.
Embrace
The one thing that has and will continue to get me through hard times is my faith. Even when I am weak and give in to the sadness or frustration or FEAR, if I stop and think back on all of my life, I realize that God is bigger than this. It’s during times like this that I force myself to sit quietly longer, and pray a lot more. It’s amazing how much easier it is to keep stepping forward when I give it to God.
Actions
After I allow myself some time to have the feelings that I’m having (and I believe 9 times out of 10 it’s fear based), I then brush myself off and take action. And some situations take longer to work through, but I try very hard not to stay in my feelings for too long. Doing that can really hamper my ability to move forward, so I work hard to take that next step.
Pivot
Whether it’s a situation in my personal life, the sense of being helpless to what is happening around me, or challenges in my work life, I get through the “feeling” part and then I PIVOT! I actually get a little excited at this point because when I focus on pivoting, it brings a new (or renewed) energy! Here are some of the things I am talking about:
Connect with someone (or a few someones) that makes you smile. Or laugh. Laughter is amazing for the brain and the energy.
Make a list (yes, I do love list making, if you’ve never done it, try it!). Make a list of the things that you are good at. Don’t leave anything out! If you are good at encouraging people, write that. If you rock at graphics, put that on the list. Maybe you are super creative, or are really good at being a mom. Put it all on the list. I’m always surprised at how much I forget that I know. lol. This is a good mood booster. It’s also helpful for figuring next steps if necessary.
Talk to someone who is successful at what you are wanting. Maybe it’s someone who has been married a long time and you just want to hear their words of wisdom for making it work. Perhaps you need to learn something new in your business, talk to someone who is really good at that thing. Maybe you want to be able to help or volunteer somewhere to help others, ask around for ideas. I’ve found that people really do love helping others.
Get out there and do something. Whether you need to focus on your marriage, work on your finances, or feel the desire to get involved more in areas of the world that need attention, there is always SOMETHING we can do. Research, find groups, talk to people, and then do!
TAKE STEPS. They can be baby ones, but take them. It’s super important to actually take steps, not just talk or think about it.
Positive Outcome
I’ve had lots of experience pivoting in my life. Many times I was really worried or sad or frustrated with something, but once I did the things I mentioned above and actually took steps toward what I could control, it has always been incredible how my mood follows!
And guess what, when you take a step in a direction of doing something positive, your endorphins kick in and you feel a little energy. Our endorphins are literally often called the “feel good” chemical because they can boost our happiness.
Many times I also begin to immediately see a pattern. Something good, albeit small, usually comes from it. And I’ll take small wins any day!!
Takeaway
So the biggest takeaway today is to remember not to stay where you are. Realize that we control what we can and we learn to pivot. It’s fun to learn and we want to keep our brains engaged, so get out there and make today a win!
And ALWAYS stop and reflect about your situation and look for the opportunities to be grateful. Being grateful helps us have positive emotions. It actually can improve our health too!
Today
As you can imagine, today I am overflowing with gratitude in all areas of my life. I pray that if you are struggling in any or several areas, that you find some peace and that you take the steps to get back to happiness. Take the small wins each moment!
I’ve always loved decorating and redecorating my home and favorite spaces. Often times though, I’d be at a loss on what to do or what it was I was really going for. Years ago my girlfriend gave me the best decorating tip EVER. I have used it ever since.
Get started
Sometimes the hardest part is just to start. We know we want to make some changes, but tearing things apart or starting that process can be daunting. Fear of the unknown maybe. Or fear that we won’t like what we’ve done.
Duane knew this about me back when we had some big things we wanted to do, so when I would be gone working on a Saturday, there were a few times I came home to one of the rooms being completely taken apart! One Saturday afternoon I came home to find my bathtub in the front yard!!
He realized that if he tore it apart, we’d have to put it back together. And sometimes I was slow to pull the trigger on a redo, so that was his way of resolving that challenge! HA!
One thing usually evolves in to more
Just know that when you do one thing, it usually will evolve in to another. For example, last fall we finally painted our kitchen cabinets! They looked fantastic, but suddenly the old tile floor was an eye-sore. So guess what?! We decided to redo the flooring in the kitchen.
But to do that we may as well go ahead and redo the flooring in the entire downstairs so that it was all one type of flooring. So, we set out to do that.
Then of course, with new flooring, we realized we may as well paint the walls because it had been a while and we wanted to brighten up our space and use lighter colors.
So be ready for more. It never fails. LOL
Long story short…the best advice
Let’s jump to the point here. When putting our house back together, we wanted to completely change things up. So we did! We swapped the living room with the dining room! We just went for it. Why? Because if we hated it we could always put it back.
The advice…DO it. Do what you think would be neat but aren’t sure. Then SIT IN THAT for awhile. We didn’t hang anything on the walls right away. We just sat in the rooms for a while to see how we felt about it. To get other ideas to be sure this was our favorite.
Once we were sure that we were totally in love with this new set up, we put things on the walls.
So don’t be afraid to just sit in your space and take it all in for a bit. Go for the bold ideas because you can always switch it back.
Although you want to be spot on when it comes to flooring choices, you can always repaint or rearrange again! So go for it!
We are loving it
We have been putting things up on the walls now and we are LOVING our new spaces! And it has me motivated to move other things around and redecorate other spaces now. Just for fun.
I love seeing pictures or hearing about redecorating ideas, so feel free to share with me! I’d love it!
Another year of our Leader Led Be the Change Conference has come and gone and I now sit and reflect on the event. I love reflecting once it is over so that I can determine what I most want to take away from it for the upcoming year.
My favorite moments
Aside from my take aways, I have so many favorite moments. Mine often include my experience with the hotel property because for many years I also worked for that company and the time with them served me well. A few of my fave overall moments include:
The moment I walk in the front doors and feel like I’m at my home away from home.
Having staff members that know we are coming and are excited to see us arrive.
Walking in to my guest-room and taking in the familiar surrounding for a few moments.
Standing in the lobby bar area, waiting for others to come walking through those front doors that I get to spend the next couple of days with!
The hugs from friends, old and new.
The laughter. The reminiscing. The chatter about what is to come.
Playing JT’s song as we kick off the first moments of the meeting! Everyone standing, smiling, some even dancing!
Learning. We have so much to share and everyone is so willing to do so.
Our evening activity. This seems to get better and better with each year. We learn so much about one another and the bonds grow!
And finally, the heartfelt messages and comments from the attendees that also learned, were inspired, or made a new friend or two and are grateful for taking the time to come and invest in themselves!
Year 5!
This was our 5th year! For someone who wasn’t sure the first one would even be attended, this is very exciting! Each year we have a several from the previous year attend, along with a few new attendees too. So each year I personally get to see these precious people, and get to know new people too. I cherish this time with each of them.
What I learned this year
Every year I leave with a lot more knowledge and ideas than I came in with. This year was no exception! Our speakers were once again amazing. The details they shared will definitely help to incorporate some of the things I will do in my daily/weekly business. The mindset, breaking out of our comfort zones, trying new things…always good to work on this!
Learning about a Scent Club was awesome…the detail was incredible! So many attendees talking about starting or enhancing theirs! It can be game changing!
So much value given about Long Term Success.
It’s about the people
Though the training was incredible and I’m so grateful for it, as I reflect, my mind goes back to the people again.
The people make this business fun. The relationships keep me going if I’m having a rough day. The smiles, the love, the way we support and lift one another up. THAT is my favorite take away.
These are the faces that started off my year on the right foot! Precious Precious People. I’m ready to make 2022 a fabulous year!
Today’s blog is short and sweet. We are at the end of the year. The world is at your feet as you think about what you want for 2022! But have you written it down?
Serious question
It really is. A serious question. Have you written it down?
Things are much more likely to happen when you write it down because you are telling it to the universe, AND you are reminded any time you look at it!
Where to start
If you’d like a little help with setting your goals, check out this workbook I shared last year. It can be used year after year if you’d like! I’ve used this type of format for many many years, even before I owned my own business!
Have fun and make it count!
So get to getting! Click on this link and get your workbook and start setting out those goals if you haven’t already! And if you’ve started, I’d love to hear how it’s going!
Let me start this off by saying, I’m no Doctor. I don’t even play one on TV. But when something works so well for you, it’s only fair to share with others, right?
It started with a referral
Yep, just like so many other things, it totally started with a friend of mine that gave me this persons name. I was having some horrible hormonal issues and my current doctor kept prescribing me new things to help each symptom.
It was to the point of the doc telling me I should just get a hysterectomy and be done with it. Well I don’t know about you, but surgery of any kind is serious to me, so I wanted to be sure it was the last resort.
My first appointment
When I arrived to Claire’s office, she immediately took pictures of my eyes. Pictures. Yes. Of each eye. She then began telling me what she saw in my eyes.
Keep in mind, I had not even told her what I was there for yet.
The first thing she noticed basically tied back to my hormones! She told me I had a dairy allergy, and to stop all dairy asap. I honestly didn’t even think I consumed that much dairy, until we started talking about everything that IS dairy.
In a nutshell
So that this doesn’t go on forever, I’ll just share in a nutshell…she gave me other things too that were going on, and we discussed foods to eat or avoid to help, as well as a couple of supplements to take. But let’s zero in on this dairy allergy.
I became very aware of all that I consumed from there on and was shocked at how many times I had to turn something away because it contained dairy. So I apparently had been consuming a lot more of it than I realized.
Do you know that within 6 weeks of cutting dairy out of my diet, I realized my hormonal issues had literally come to a halt?! All of it. The mood swings, the other issues I was having, I even felt as though I had moved on through menopause completely!
Keep in mind I had been seeing a Gyn and a general practice doctor now for over 2 years for these issues, only to continue to have them get worse.
One thing leads to another thing
Just like with anything else, when one thing begins to correct itself, other things follow. I was no longer having the hormonal issues, which meant that I was no longer feeling as bloated. I did try and change my eating habits in other ways as well. She advised me to avoid gluten as much as possible, so I did that too. My hope was that I would start losing weight finally.
Truth is, I didn’t lose any weight, but I was feeling SO much better. I’m sure if I had followed her complete food plan I would have, but I’m one that needs that accountability on a regular basis. So after a few months of feeling better, that was when I searched out Kathy and began her weight loss plan. For the first time in YEARS I was seeing the scale finally budge!!
Highly recommend
Even my husband now goes to see Claire. He is no longer taking some of the meds that he was before, which were apparently damaging his liver. He is feeling better too! He now needs to take her advice on the no sugar thing…but he’ll get there! LOL.
As for me, she’s been a life saver. I highly recommend her to anyone that lives in or around the Conroe area. Or if you aren’t around here, perhaps look up Eyology in your area.
Having my hormones corrected was huge in itself. But now I feel even better. Each visit we continue to work on things she sees. All in my eyes. I had no idea our eyes give so much about what is going on, but it makes sense!
Check it out
If you want more info about Eyology, simply click here! What I particularly love about Claire is that she explains it to me where I understand it. The things she tells me makes perfect sense. She asks about symptoms and shows me where they are stemming from.
Just to be clear, I’m not bashing doctors AT ALL. I appreciate what they do and we definitely need them. I’m quite grateful for them. I just love the option of getting to the root of the issue to try to work on it first.
If you’ve ever tried Iridology, I’d love to hear your feedback! Shoot me a message or comment below! And if you are still reading…thank you! I appreciate you sticking it out and reading all the way through. Cheers! xoxo
