Hi! I'm Dana! I'm a married mom (empty nester to be exact), have 2 dogs, and am a Team Leader inspiring others in their Business! I love providing what I believe is the best home fragrance and décor on the market today!

Tough message today, but we need to hear it.

YOU ARE AWESOME. Let me say it again…YOU ARE AWESOME!

We don’t hear that enough. Especially if you are your own boss and have to motivate yourself to keep going every day!

So the question is, do you have what it takes to survive being your own boss? If you do, then say it with me…WE ARE AWESOME!!!

We can almost count on it

Yep, at least once or twice a year, we can almost count on things going wonky. Whether it be our team isn’t engaged, or we have things happening in our personal lives that are distracting us…it happens. What we do from there is what matters.

The new has worn off

The toughest part of being your own boss is sometimes just staying engaged when the new and shininess of your business has worn off. Or when you are experiencing “crickets” with your team and nothing you do seems to get them engaged.

We think it’s our fault. We lose a little confidence in what we are doing as a leader. And sometimes, we disengage ourselves because of it.

The truth is…

The truth is, this happens in every company and with most people. BUT, the other hard truth is some people give in and basically give up. They blame everything and everyone else around them.

How do you keep it from happening to you?

When times feel tough, when your team isn’t engaging, when you are feeling like it’s falling apart, THAT is when you have to dig in and make sure YOU keep going! Continue to set an example. Work your business every single day. Engage as often as you can, even when you hear crickets. Keep engaging. And be consistent about it!

As anyone that owns their own business would say…it’s not always “fun”, but it’s always important to keep going. And you are the only one that can control that!

You’ve got this

Not everyone is cut out for the direct sales business. When you are your own boss, it means most days you must motivate yourself to get it done. You don’t have a boss telling you what to do, so you have to be a self starter every single day.

Set up some routines for yourself. Use theme days to help you stay organized and working. Here’s my theme day blog from awhile back! Click here for more info. I have been using theme days for a few years and it has kept me going and on track!

But most importantly

  • Stay Engaged.
  • Be consistent!
  • Stay as positive as you possibly can. Avoid drama.
  • Look for the good in all situations.
  • Remind yourself that you have your own business and are your own boss, and this is an awesome place to be!
  • Think about why you started doing this to begin with.
  • Pat yourself on the back for not giving up!
  • Congratulate yourself for showing up even on the bad days.

I’d love to hear more tips on how to stay engaged and not give up when you are your own boss and it’s all up to you whether you “show up” or not! Please message me or share in the comment section below! In the meantime…stay strong and make it happen! I’m cheering for you!

xoxo,
