Wow! Can I just start by saying “God is good!”
The day didn’t start that way
Today, as I set out to write my blog, I had a completely different topic I was writing about. I was struggling through it because I was trying to take a negative situation and turn it to a better one. I was just thinking about how I use my time in prayer each morning to help me.
Then BAM!
Then as I sat here at my desk, I saw a vehicle pull up and a sweet looking older couple got out and walked to my door. Often times I do not answer the door, but I was intrigued for some reason so I did.
They introduced themselves as being from Houston NW Church, and that they were just checking on us because they knew we were members back at one time. With Covid and all, they were getting out and checking in on people.
Chill bumps!
Y’all…this is where the chill bumps hit me. Just a few days ago I told Duane that I miss being a part of a church. It has been years since I was actually a member of one.
Yes, I do my Bible reading every morning, watch James Merritt on Sundays, and often times also catch Ed Young, but there’s something about praise and worship in church that I am totally missing.
God’s Word
I’ve also noticed lately that I can’t seem to get enough of God’s Word. I watched the first season of Chosen recently (If you haven’t seen that, it is a must) and uploaded an app with a daily Bible verse that comes up on my phone each day. Suddenly I have noticed more Bible verses popping up in my social media threads lately too!
Let’s pause for a second
Let me pause on that…what ever we are focused on is what we are focused on, right? And believe me, what ever we are focused on, our social media knows it too and gives us more of that content to focus on! This can be good and bad, so make sure you are focusing on the right stuff that will fill your soul and not take from it!
This sweet couple didn’t pressure me or make me feel bad at all. They just chatted with me for a few moments.
Then they asked if they could pray with me.
The Ring
Here’s the coolest part. You know the Ring that we all have now on our doors? Duane is at work but was curious who was at the door too so he got on the app to look. He got to see and hear it ALL! Including when they prayed with us!
Loud and clear!
Sometimes God whispers to us, and other times He sends a message loud and clear. I am so grateful for His grace and love. I’m feeling it in an overwhelming way right this moment, so I decided THAT was what I wanted to share today.
My blog that I originally started writing seems so silly now. There is always going to be negative issues we can focus on. OR we can choose to focus on God’s Word and the good in this world. THAT was my reminder today as well. LOUD and CLEAR God! I hear you!
